This is what a tea party
ought to look like.....
at least in my humble
opinion. Rather than the
images of angry folks that
think using the phrase gives
them political relevance these days.

Unfortunately, the image I get of folks standing
around yelling their heads off about no more taxes
I find ironic that they generally are on taxpayer
property when the do it and tend to generate more of the
image to the right here.

Everybody can complain but when people gripe about the "do nothing Congress" I think they get what they deserve because no politician can be innovate or be a leader because the minute someone suggests something new or something that might cost money in which to invest, these folks want to throw them out or burn them at the political stake.

Perhaps it's time for the mainstream part of the country to take the country back.

IF OBAMACARE PASSES, WHAT WILL HAPPEN BY ELECTION DAY
If the House Democratic majority passes Obama's healthcare proposals, one of two things will happen by Election Day, 2010 - and neither one will be healthy for the Democrats seeking re-election.
Either the Medicare cuts will take effect or they will be postponed by a terrified Congress.
If they take effect, physicians' fees will be slashed 21 percent and hospital reimbursements for Medicare patients will be cut by $1.3 billion. Tens of thousands of doctors and thousands of healthcare institutions - hospitals, hospices, outpatient clinics and such - will refuse to treat Medicare patients.
Entire cities will be without one doctor in important specialties who will take care of the elderly on Medicare. Particularly in fields like G.I. care or arthritic and joint pain, doctors will simply refuse to accept the low reimbursement rates they are being offered and hospitals will refuse all but emergency care to Medicare patients. In effect, the elderly will experience a doctors' strike against Medicare patients.
Congress, faced with this massive revolt coming right on the verge of the election, may back down and postpone the cuts. Originally, doctor reimbursement rates were scheduled to drop on March 1 of this year, but Congress postponed it until the fall. Now the Democrats in Congress will face not only cuts in doctors' fees but in all forms of Medicare reimbursement - the so-called "market basket" of cuts programmed into Obamacare.
Congress, being Congress, will probably seek to postpone the cuts until after Election Day. But in doing so, they would expose the deficit reduction and cost containment features of Obama's bill for the fraud that they are. The news media headlines would blare that Congress just voted to add tens or hundreds of billions to the deficit and the big spending, high borrowing image of Congress will worsen. All pretense that Obamacare is not a reckless spending bill will be stripped away and we will be face to face with the reality that it will add hugely to the deficit.
All this will come at precisely the time that House and Senate Democrats are scrambling to rebut the attacks of their Republican challengers over these very issues. If Congress votes to postpone the Medicare cuts, as a former Secretary of HHS predicted to me, they will have to answer for their fiscal irresponsibility right before the election.
Either poison - the cuts or the deficit - will be enough to eradicate an entire generation of House and Senate Democrats.
And these cuts will take place against a backdrop of continuing increases in health insurance premiums, no expansion of coverage (it doesn't kick in until 2013), and no tangible benefit from the Obama bill.
This is the prospect the House and Senate Democrats who vote for Obamacare will face in the fall of 2010. This is the record they will have to defend.
Or, they could save their political lives and vote no!

Truth or Fiction - Author of Cornhusker Kickback Boo'd in Restaurant

Rumor has it from some of my Nebraska reporters that Senator Ben Nelson (D) Nebraska was recently boo'd when he entered a popular dining spot while vacationing in Nebraska.

Anybody able to confirm this report? We are guessing it has something to do with his Cornhusker kickback deal with the Obama folks.

Rumor has it that Senator Nelson's career might be toast anyway
but that is strictly conjecture on our part.

We are certainly interested in hearing from anyone who might
be able to shed even the slightest crumb of evidence
that Senator Nelson's standing with Nebraskans
is perhaps a bit dry these days.

We have to be honest with you at this point; however.
The whole thing seems just a bit
Corny to us.

A New Definition of Terror

Syndicated columnist Leonard Pitts Jr., authored this recent article. The article discusses the recent revelation of a found Power Point hard copy outlining the fear mongering to those termed as "small donors" the $10 and $25 Republican contributors. Pitts mentions that the Dems were also previously guilty of this smack down tactic.

I found some examples during the 1964 Presidential campaign where the Dems showed an atomic bomb mushroom cloud and indicating that if the people voted for Goldwater instead of Johnson, he would start a Nuclear war. There is also the famous KKK advertisement that the Johnson people used.

Mr. Pitts indicates in his article that the Republicans have been busy with this mischief as well and he is right. Starting with Nixon's fear of crime campaign in 1968, fear has been the focus of most of the subsequent presidential campaigns.

There is; however a different fear mongering that I suggest is even more divisive and dangerous to the health of this Republic. A few nights ago, I received a call from an individual purporting to represent the Republican National Committee. This individual started off by asking me if I was a "loyal" Republican. I told him that I was and that this loyal Republican intended to hold on to his money and not be donating anything over the phone. The caller then launched into what I can only describe as a septic tank of disgusting slander against Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats including the President.
If this is the new Republic strategy, then Mr. Pitts' observation about pushing post 9-11 fears to attract voters is mild in comparison.

Perhaps Khrushchev was right when he said the communists would "bury" us. It just took longer than he expected.

Once we start tearing each other down in disrespectful and hateful ways as was the case with this caller, we have already lost the war===any war. When we cease civil discourse for the chance to crawl over the backs of others to get what they have, we have lost the battle.

Mr. Pitts is correct. We need to be afraid: afraid not of the fear mongering but what we have lowered ourselves to. You see, if this kind of rhetoric is selling it's because it is perceived that it is effective. If that is the case, we are living in the gutters of humanity and if we refuse to cast off this type of behavior, I fear our country is truly lost.

I would suggest that you contact the national chairman of which ever party you are affiliated or contact both and tell them that we as a people are smarter and better than this and if they don't knock it off; neither party will find the support or endorsement they need from those "small givers" because you see....the small givers' votes by far outnumber the single big dollar donor.

Rush Limbaugh Should Retire

12 years or so, I really thought Rush Limbaugh had something to say. I watched his TV show without fail and bought his first book. It made some sense. I'm a pretty Conservative person but the reality is Rush is a liability. He is simply another entertainer like Ann Coulter who less that enlightened folk have begun to listen to as gospel. Both of these folks have damaged the Conservative cause beyond repair. It's time for them to retire, write their memoirs and let the serious people run the party. I agree with the adjacent picture. It's time for a "rush" to go back to a good time and not a radio pundit. I hope that people figure this out sooner than later. The last thing we need is a offshoot of a Conservative party as a third party to try to establish some sense of sanity to the true moderate stance of Lincoln Republicans and the party of Teddy Roosevelt.

We need to stop listening to the extremes and get back to center.

Does Obama Hate Fox News??

Does Obama hate Fox News or is it just a ruse to deflect attention away from the failure of Democrats to push through their agenda?

We find ourselves checking out most of the cable news channels as well as the old "legacy" three networks for news items to discuss and study and by-in-large, it is our experience that whatever bias may be found on Fox News, is disproportionately offset by the bias found on every other news channel. "Fair and Balanced" is relative in the eye of the beholder.

We find it interesting that a good number of commentators ...did you hear that Obama folks??? COMMENTATORS found on Fox News have previously had distinguished careers in other news outlets and in some cases, are found on other networks. Do they suddenly grow horns and a tail when they appear on Fox News?

It is our humble opinion that for every right wing nut found watching Fox, there are three left wing nuts watching Fox to report on CNN, MSNBC and CBS, NBC, and ABC about how crazy Fox folks are.

I consider O'Reilly, Beck, and others just commentators ...just like Anderson et al, found on the other networks are there for entertainment and commentary. Does anybody seriously consider Andy Rooney on CBS a serious news commentator?

Awww come on Obama people, lighten up and start worrying about the mess this country finds itself in rather than trying to deflect your accountability to citizens or worrying about the next presidential election cycle.

It's time to repeal term limits on the office of the President. Let's get back to accountability in governance instead of spending all our time blaming news outlets for having "power" the "mindless masses."

Free enterprise still runs the marketplace. If there is a product out there consumers don't like, they shop someplace else. Obviously somebody is watching Fox News and fewer are watching the other guys.

Get over it Dems. Stalin is dead.

I guess some would equate the election of a republican senator from Mass. to pigs flying. I'm not so sure yet. Before the Repubs get too giddy, they may want to develop a game plan on solving many of the problems they created when they were the majority. It's fun the build your platform on tearing down the other guy but when you get the spotlight again, you better have something in your playbook other than blaming the other guy.

Political Landscape - Michael Piper

One of the things we try to do here is to keep a watch on local races across the United States to see how the state and national parties may fare. One of our readers called attention to a little known place in Minnesota where a number of Republicans are trying to vie for a state house seat currently held by a democrat who also just happens to be a school teacher.

The race encompasses part of a city called Northfield and the rural area around it. One of the candidates is a guy by the name of Michael Piper. Mr. Piper appears to be unique in the sense that he has an intellect about him that would serve the people of that district well.

We searched a few web browsers and discovered that Mr. Piper has served at a number of township levels and is involved in a number of volunteer activities in his home area.

It will be interesting to see if a town like Northfield that prides itself on its intellectual leanings can differentiate between an incumbent that happens to be in education and an individual who is actually intellectually competent.

Well Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska has decided to cave in and vote for the Health Care debacle. At least he "kept" government monies from funding abortions, or so the spin doctors say..time will tell.

My wish to Santa Claus is that a miracle occurs and the health care bill gets lost until after Christmas break when the constituents can remind their democratic senators and representatives who they work for.

The kind of health care reform we need should not break the federal bank and should not be funded on the backs of taxpayers.

The "expert panel" that advises the center for disease control (unnamed and faceless committee), has told the powers that be that public safety officers (police and fire) that they are not critical responders and they will not be offered the H1N1 vaccination. School officials and care providers will receive it however. Then comes the article I've placed below. We can also vaccinate swine before we can vaccinate our first responders. Just another example of how out of touch Washington is with the real world. You should contact your elected officials NOW and demand they change their protocols. Somehow I suspect the majority of real Americans would like to know there will be healthy firefighters to put out fires and law enforcement officers to respond to crazies and black market junkies.

Vaccine may protect pigs from human swine flu

Lincoln, Neb. — Humans may not be the only ones guarding against swine flu when influenza season hits. Pigs could also be getting new vaccinations.

That's because pigs can contract the virus from people, in much the same way people do. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it passes from human to hog mostly from coughing and sneezing.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has given several animal vaccine manufacturers the "master seed virus" from the swine flu strain now circulating among humans. At least one company, Pfizer, says it's developing a vaccination for pigs.

The human swine flu hasn't yet turned up in U.S. pig herds. And the USDA says hog farmers won't be required to vaccinate herds against it.

But officials will encourage vaccinations in response to any U.S. pig outbreaks.

The Government would do well to give the bailout money in the form of stimulus cash rebates to forgive mortgages or pay down debt to taxpayers. They could also reinstate the tax exemption for credit card interest to help those out who have been living on credit.

I've read that Demos claim that a lot of the town hall meetings are being sabotaged by repubs who have scripted and are not representing main-stream Americans. According to this posting on Youtube, this is what that poster said. "I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. So much for the planned talking points of the right wing conspiracy."

Obama's Czars

You know, when the number of Czars in Russia got out of control, they threw them out, and wound up with a bunch of communists.

Now there will be a Czar in charge of interrogating "high target" detainees. A committee commissioned by the President, met for months and guess what, they decided the existing interrogation rules already in place for the Army is just fine. But we will have a committee to work on our "high target" detainees or terrorists.

Given the dismal track record of this administration so far, I seriously doubt there will be any captured "high target" terrorists in our custody.

Our attorney general has announced an inquisition(my word), to look into previous improper interrogations despite the fact they were sanctioned by the last justice department and president. If he wants to go after someone, then just go after Gonzales or Bush. What they are going to do is drive away any decent human intelligence officers we have developed and we will be right back in the mess we had during the Clinton Administration.

Does anyone remember all the terrorists acts against US targets during Clinton's rule? And what about 9-11? Shortly after Bush took office?

Our current attorney general has just made it much more attractive to make US citizens, interests and our country a terrorist target. I just hope something really significant doesn't have to happen before their attitude changes.

My dad used to tell me that a liberal was just a Republican who hadn't been mugged yet. Let's hope that this Democratic president doesn't need to have that happen at our expense before there is a foreign policy change.

I had a chance to catch some "news" this morning. The lead story on NBC this morning was a bunch of idiot commentators talking about a poll if Americans are upset because Michelle Obama came out of Air Force One wearing shorts.

All I can say is Oh, My, God!

With all the stuff going on, they are worried about this and somebody commissioned a poll?

It's time for reporters and news producers to go live is South L.A. or North Minneapolis or just walk around Queens in NY for a while.

I bet Ed Murrow is rolling in his grave. We certainly need all the good luck he can provide us.

Of course the Demos in Minnesota call themselves DFL. Democratic Farmer Labor party which is a carryover from their Socialist Governor Anderson.
